NESA (North East Soccer Association) is offering small skills soccer training for the Winter 2010 seasons.

Small skills training is ball mastery, passing and receiving, change of directions, fakes and feints, and individual creativity!

NESA is offering two different small skills training programs; one for 2009 and another for 2010:

·      In January thru March 2010 NESA will offer two – 6 session seasons; Seasons 1 & 2. They will take place at the Maplewood Community Center on Tuesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm. Fee will be per season (6 sessions).

Season 1 (Jan thru mid Feb 2010) six sessions will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 12, 19, 26, February 2 & 9.

Season 2 (mid Feb thru March 2010) six sessions will take place on Tuesday, Feb 16, 23, March 2, 9, 16 & 23.

Season 1 & 2 – The younger players will start at 5 pm. The older players will be later in the evening. Exact breakdown of age groups will depend on sign-ups. Due to the gym size the number of participants is limited to 12 players per session, availability will be on a first come first serve basis. Fee will be $40 per player per season (6 sessions). To participate each player must have payed and turned in a NESA Medical Release Form.

Submit checks (payable to NESA and write Small Skills on the memo line) for Season 1 by December 31, 2009 and for Season 2 by January 31, 2010 to:

The medical release form can be submitted with payment, or at the beginning of the session/season.

Small skills training will costs $60 for Season 1 after the December 31 submittal date and  $60 for Season 2 after the January 31 submittal date.

2010 Large Skills Training (updated 2/15/10)

NESA (North East Soccer Association) is offering large skills soccer training for the upcoming Winter 2010 season.

Large skills training is finishing, receiving and turning, heading, long range passing, group play, fast breaks and goals!

Here are the revised times and dates (all of them are Saturdays):

Feb 20 and 27, 9 am to 10 am
March 6 and 13, 12 pm to 1 pm
April 10, 9 am to 10 am.

There wasn't an available time for the originally scheduled March 27 date. I wanted to stay with a Saturday, so I selected April 10th instead. Partly because it's not part of the ISD 622 spring break week.

For those of you who haven't yet signed up for large skills training, and these later start times appeal to you, you can sign up for the remaining 5 sessions for $40. Bring your check, made out to NESA, and the NESA Medical Release Form (if we don't have one already for this year) to the next session.

If a medical release form was submitted for NESA Soccer 2009/2010 Small Skills Training that waiver will also apply to Large Skills Training. Please note with payment if a medical release form was submitted for Small Skills Training

The skills training will be run by the NESA training staff.
