Our mission is to promote, provide and teach soccer in the "Spirit of the Game." FUN, FAIRNESS and SAFETY. We provide competitive traveling soccer for boys and girls ages 9-19 in the east metro area.
If you are interested in volunteering to be a coach with one of our traveling teams, we offer coach's training free of charge. We encourage parents to consider getting involved as a coach and/or team manager.
Please contact Jim Wilber for more information.
Most of you are aware that NESA has funds to pay for your development. We think this is an important part of providing the best possible experience for the kids. There is always something to learn-even if you played the game your whole life or have coached forever. Techniques also change so what once was good is now bad.
MYSA is offering several courses this spring including the USSF E and D Licenses, the NSCAA GK 1, 2 & 3 courses as well as several Youth Modules. Here is the MYSA link for coaching courses: http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/680939-coaching-courses.
Other ideas include the following:
If you or your assistant coach are interested in a course, other material such as books or videos, or if you would like some specific coaching equipment, please contact Jim Wilbur. He can approve courses or material purchases and can bring equipment purchase requests to the board.
MYSA also offers the Winter Symposium. http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/702850-winter-symposium This year coaches have the option of attending specific sessions to earn the MSYA Technical Certificate. The symposium is February 2nd and is at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We encourage all of you to attend this but understand that schedules don't always permit that. If you want to attend please contact Jim Wilbur by next Saturday, January 12th, so he has time to register us before the price doubles.
