2008 State Tournament The U12 Boys Lightning Team went undefeated through the preliminary and semi-final rounds of the tournament before finishing second in the state tournament. In all they finished ahead of 56 other teams in the league. |

2008 District Finals The U12 Boy's Lightning team won the league championship in the East District. Congrats to all the players! |

2008 State Championship The U17 Girls' Lightning Team finished the season last Friday, August 1st with a 4 -1 victory over Plymouth. The girls completed their bracket and championship game by defeating there opponents by a combined score of 19 goals for and 3 against. The Lightning girls completed their season with a 22 - 4 record. Congrats to the girls for a fun & successful soccer season. |

2008 League Championship The U17 Girls' Lightning team won the league championship with an impressive 9 -1 record in the East District. They now move on to the MYSA State Championship starting July 26th. The week of July 14th the team entered the USA Cup tournament and finished as a semi-finalist. Congrats to all the players! |

2008 Burnsville FireCup The U12 Boys played in the Burnsville FireCup on June 27th-29th. Despite being down by one goal late in the game, they rallied to beat their opponent in an overtime game to finish in 1st place. They outscored their opponents 26-6 and received 27 out of a possible 30 tournament points on their way to the championship. |

2008 Mahtomedi Tournament The U12 Boys played in the Mahtomedi Tournament on May 16 - 18th. They finished in 2nd place after an exciting double overtime game. They outscored their opponents by 21-4 and received 29 out of 30 points on the way to the Championship game. |

2008 NESA Tournament
The U12 Boys played in the NESA Tournament on June 13-15th. They finished in 1st place after outscoring their opponents 22-2 and receiving 29 out of a possible 30 tournament points. |

2008 NESA Tournament
The NESA U11 girls participated in their second tournament in as many weeks, winning the NESA tournament with a 4-0 record. The team gave up only 1 goal throughout the tournament. Thanks to NESA for putting on a great tournament! |

2008 NESA Tournament The U9 Maroon Boys team has been playing awesome this season. They have won all of their tournament games (Eagan, Apple Valley, NESA and SCV Jamboree) playing U9 and U10 teams. They have all been working hard this season and only have one loss in the regular league play. Hat's off to this team for a great season so far... Let's keep it going... |

2008 Forest Lake Soccer Tournament The NESA U11 girls played in the Forest Lake tournament on June 7. The team was impressive, finishing the day with a 3-0 record and outscoring their opponents 19-2. Based on the 10-point scoring system, they were awarded 28 out of a possible 30 points, which was good enough to earn them second place out of 8 teams. Congratulations to the players and coaches! |

2008 Kicker Classic Kickoff
The U17 Lightning Girls team played in Brooklyn Park the weekend of May 17-18, well not exactly. The tournament schedule plan was such that the girls would play 3 games within a 20 hour time span. The girls played very well with scoring 11 goals while only giving up 2. The Lightning girls won the Kicker Classic Kickoff in Brooklyn Park." |

2008 Blaine Breakout Tournament
The U17 girls traveled to Blaine the weekend of May 3-4 to participate in the 2008 Blaine Breakout Tournament. The team played very well together and for their efforts won 1st place. The picture displays the Denfeld Hunters team (runner-up) and NESA Lightning U17 girls. |

Hudson Referee Training & Jamboree The U9/10 Lightning Girls traveled to Hudson on Saturday April 19th to participate in the Hudson Referee Training & Jamboree. First of all, NESA Soccer would like to thank the Hudson Soccer Club for hosting this event. Special thanks to Gene & Lee with the coordination of the event. Ashley & Elena were excited about their new role as coaches and the transition from player to coach. Although a cold 50 degree temperature on a Saturday afternoon didn’t damper their spirits, the U9/10 Lightning girls were very excited about getting outside for the first time. The girls played 3 mini games with practices in between. Thanks again to all who participated in this Soccer Event. |
